My Fenty Beauty Day, Ok💋

Image
Today is National Women's Day and I decided to support a fellow woman.  I have been looking for a simple everyday makeup routine and when I walked into Ulta in the pouring rain, Fenty, by Rhianna was on display.  Lately Rhi Rhi's gorgeous baby bump stands out in every photo pop, I like to celebrate women and being a woman so this was perfect timing.  Not being one to know my way around a beauty counter there were far too many shades and categories, I needed help.   Ulta had testers for the Fenty line of products.  Luckily, I was able to hook up with a knowledgeable consultant who could help with the safe application and color matching   Here's a look at the products we applied.  If you're starting fresh like me, expect to spend up to $315 on your complete Fenty look.  Before you say, "why so much!? " I can assure you the products and packaging are graded "A" and will last for months before you will need to replace them. Breaki

A Look at the love life of Harriet Tubman

Black History Month intertwined with Love 🖤                                                                         I have been thinking a lot about the history of women who made hugely important sacrifices for black people enslaved.  Love is on the brain, how could it not be during February.  Everywhere you look there are images of couples in love, sexy lingerie, plus hearts and flowers.  Here, I take a look at the soft side of Harriet Tubman.  You know the side all of us women possess? The side where our hearts flutter and we can't live without that certain someone. 🖤 I can imagine that is what Harriet felt when she met her first husband a free man named John Tubman. The two Wedded under an informal agreement rather than a legally bound union and stayed married from 1844-to 1851. 🖤 Similar to love relationships today, when Harriet began to evolve and became determined to gain her own freedom in the North the marriage suffered. Mrs. Tubman made several trips back an

Small Town Parade, 3Things to expect at a Texas Town Holiday Parade

Image
3 THINGS THAT STOOD OUT IN MY TOWNS PARADE This year's town parade in my opinion was missing the "wow," and the"Ewww." What it wasn't missing was the kinship.  With all of the crazy happening around the world; last night at our parade friendship was constructed and fun was had.  The charm of a community gathering felt like a small town lifetime movie. Drill Team and Football Texans are known for loving football.  The High School marching band and drill team kicked things off with the sounds of drums and the vision of shiny uniforms moving in unison.  This was the Eww. The energy was high, and the excitement of what was occurred to happen next was in the air.   Jesus Jesus is the reason for the Season.  We live in a Bible Belt part of our country, and whether you truly are a believer in the birth of Jesus Christ the Savior or you just pretend to be a believer because it's the norm; you can be sure to discover a Christia

Katina Kennedy The Small Town Mom 11-7-2021 Magazine Suggestion is Architectural Digest featuring a serene California home owned by Alicia Keys and her husband Swizz Beatz. So impressed by the art that is displayed throughout this couple's family dwelling. I find myself interested more and more in art and photographs.  Since my family is currently balling on a budget, picking up this copy of AD allows me the opportunity to window shop in windows that you don't see every day in a small town. Easy Peasy Breezy Halloween

Halloween is almost here.  Check out a  simple drink recipe , and ideas to enhance all of your senses to accomplish the ultimate Spooky Holiday. October 20, 2021 Written by: Katina Kennedy   Design  Design sets the vibe.  Halloween decor doesn't always equal orange pumpkins and white ghosts.  You're in charge of the tone of your festivities and the vibe of your home's decor. This subtle, and dark look from Cb2  is sophisticated and dark.  Blending candlesticks and large oval holders are perfect contrasts, and when the candles are lit they set a cool and sexy vibe.  I am loving the black and white coloring of the candles so much that I would likely carry it over into Thanksgiving as well. Photo courtesy of Cb2.com Decor What I love about this dining table look is that it is adulting in high style.  Everything screams elegance and murky but pretty murky + moody but pretty moody.  The biggest investment would be the fabric utilized to cover the table an
