Have you been pondering the question,  " what age do we move to the next phase of our Mini's bedroom design?"  After studying child development for years my answer to this question would be somewhere between ages 2-4, 3-6, 7-10 and 11-14. Usually 12-14 Mom's will act as  the financial behind their Tweens vision.  We were inspired by one of our favorite little 11year old girls, Kailee. Just turning the big "11" and moving to a new and bigger home,  inspired us to think about a cute transitional design for her age group.  Not too pink and frilly; but still girly and fun. We decided on a cute Boho inspired room.

Cute window shades that still allow lot's of natural light in the room.  A ottoman that acts as storage at the foot of her bed adds texture to the room, and an extra place to display items that she loves. Next, a corner lamp and chair that tie into the ottoman plus gives a cool vibe perfect for reading or hanging with a friend. Throw in a pattern rug that compliments the window treatments and also help to ground the room. And last a boho framed art fit for a Tween, and a boho colored throw with colors taken from the @Target framed art picture that gives the room warmth and maturity.

Bedding is a crisp, clean,  white duvet cover, with white shams.  The little detail on the shams offer a girly flare, and the boho bollo pillow in the middle  keep the boho theme of the room a main focus. In these photos there are alternative options for art, window treatments,  and rug color choices that offer a different look, while keeping the same boho, cool girl feel for the rooms design.
Most importantly,  have fun with your Mini on her re-design room project.  And remember, it's not a forever design, so try not to break the bank. Our go to places for style on a dime are @ Target.com  and @Ikea.com.  Please email us any of your upgrade designs for your son's or girl's rooms. Or share under this Post on our fb site Vivian + Grace.  We would love to be inspired by you.

Xoxo,  Katina
